Acupressure
Service Description
Acupressure is a traditional healing technique that originated in China thousands of years ago. It is based on the same principles as acupuncture, which involves using fine needles to simulate specific points on the body. However, acupressure uses finger pressure on these points instead of needles. During an acupressure session, the massage therapist will use their fingers, thumbs, or other tools to apply pressure to specific points of the body , known as accupoints or meridians. These points are considered to be along pathways of energy and activating them is thought to help balance the flow of energy, or Qi, through the body. The pressure applied by the therapist is typically firm but not painful. the pressure may be held or rotated, depending on the therapist's technique and the clients needs. Acupressure is usually administered with the client lying down or sitting up right and fully clothed. Acupressure can alleviate a wide range of conditions. It is believed to help stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms, improve circulation, and promote relaxation and wellbeing. Acupressure is a safe and effective therapy that can be used alone or in conjunction with other therapies or treatments. It does not require any special equipment or medication and can be easily implemented into a regular wellness routine.
